Throughout the UK we have established a national office network which will aim to give maximum responsiveness combined with local knowledge and understanding. Our offices regularly work in partnership with each other to provide the optimum solution for clients.
GlasgowOur Glasgow team provide a range of services including strategic reviews, strategy development, formative and summative evaluations, and appraisals. Particular specialisms include learning and skills, business development, social inclusion, economic impact assessment, community regeneration and labour market analysis. The majority of the office’s work is within Scotland for clients which include the Scottish Executive, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Sector Skills Development Agency (SSDA), NHS Health Scotland and Edinburgh City Council amongst others.
Established in 2002 in Ancoats, at the heart of the City’s regeneration, the Manchester office has grown steadily and is now one of the leading practices in the North West. Headed up by Director Steve Potter, the team provides a broad range of strategy, programme development, appraisal and evaluation services across the spectrum of regeneration activities. The team has particular strengths in area regeneration, land and property, housing, business competitiveness, socio-economic analysis and social inclusion. With a focus on the North West and West Midlands, the office has a diverse set of clients, including North West Development Agency, Government Office North West, the Housing Market Renewal Pathfinders in Manchester/Salford and Stoke on Trent, Manchester City Council, Peel Holdings and Manchester Airport to name but a few.
The Sheffield team has wide ranging experience including quantitative and qualitative research, project management, town planning, community development and enterprise and works across five of the company’s main sectors – learning and skills, business competitiveness, regional development, area regeneration and diversity. We regularly work in partnership with our other offices on large assignments and our current clients include Government Departments such as DfES, national and regional agencies such as SSDA, LSC, Yorkshire Forward and ONE North East and local organisations such as Business Links and Local Authorities. Recent projects have included national evaluations of the Skills for Business Network, strategic economic appraisals in Yorkshire, drafting a City Region Development Programme, a review of business incubator provision and an evaluation of access to careers in regeneration. Staff specialisms include appraisal and evaluation, labour market analysis, economic appraisal and impact assessment, housing strategy, investment plan development and business competitiveness advice.
The Exeter team specialises in appraisal and evaluation of economic development projects, development of strategy and policy and socio-economic research. Much of Exeter’s work is carried out on behalf the South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) and other organisations working to a similar agenda. The team has particular expertise in Learning and Skills, both in terms of research and in development of policy and strategy. The Exeter team played a major role in the early development of the South West Regional Skills Partnership and has worked for the Learning and Skills Council at national, regional and sub-regional level. They have also worked with a number of coastal and rural regeneration initiatives.
