Cork Docklands Land Equalisation Study
The Brief: Carry out a Land Equalisation Study on behalf of Cork City Council, which will in turn lead to the preparation of a Land Equalisation Framework for agreement with key landowners and developers.
Cork continues to grow at significant speed particularly when compared with other comparative European Cities. Substantial physical improvements have been undertaken, which have transformed much of the City Centre. With the City’s designation as European Capital of Culture in 2005, the City has raised its image and profile as a vibrant city to live, work, visit and invest.
The property market within the City has also performed well in recent years with high demand for retail floor space, and continued growth in the residential market.
Much of the accommodation taken by inward investment companies has, however, been out of town rather than in the City Centre itself. The challenge for the City is to build on the existing infrastructure and ensure that growth continues to occur both within the City itself and the wider Metropolitan area.
We are assisting Cork City Council to implement its ambitious plans to transform the Docklands area over the next 25 years in order to create an extension to the City Centre, by working with developers and land owners to negotiate the most appropriate development mix.
