Renew Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder, Stoke Urban Core Study

The Brief: RENEW North Staffordshire required a study to guide investment in the area over the next 15 to 20 years. Working with a team of consultancies, we are advising on the funding implications of the study recommendations and producing a business plan that will form the basis of future funding bids to Government.

The company is part of a multi-disciplinary team of consultants commissioned to undertake a major study into how to revitalise the heart of North Staffordshire. RENEW North Staffordshire, the housing market renewal pathfinder, and English Partnerships, the national regeneration agency, have commissioned the study to guide investment in the area over the coming 15 to 20 years.

The Urban Core Study covers central areas of Stoke-on-Trent, including the city centre (Hanley), neighbourhoods surrounding the city centre and the derelict Etruria Valley site. RENEW North Staffordshire expects to invest £1.8 billion – 80 per cent of its planned £2.3 billion budget – in the urban core area as part of its overall plan to create a vibrant housing market with a wide choice of high quality housing for local people and new residents.

Working with property and real estate advisors Jones Lang LaSalle, masterplanners EDAW, transport, structural and geo-technical engineers Faber Maunsell and project managers Mace, we are advising on the funding implications of the study recommendations and producing a business plan that will form the basis of future funding bids to Government.
