Strategic Regeneration Frameworks for Central and South Manchester and Wythenshawe
The development of Strategic Regeneration Frameworks (SRFs) for key parts of Manchester has been a major plank in the City Council's approach to achieving sustainable communities. The SRFs comprise both a long term vision and strategy as well as a detailed set of policies and actions across a number of themes - housing, environment, crime and community safety, neighbourhood management, education, health, employment and business development. Our role, in conjunction with other specialists such as masterplanners, has been to lead the preparation of three SRFs and ensure that a holistic approach is achieved to the regeneration of the target area. Each of the SRFs has involved extensive engagement with partner agencies and stakeholders to develop options and agree the detailed policy proposals. On completion of each SRF, we have been commissioned to prepare a deatiled implementation plan and performance monitoring framework.
