An Evaluation of ASPIRE

The Brief: ASPIRE – the idea of leading Government Minister David Milliband – is a marketing campaign designed to bring young people and employers in the North East closer together. We were asked by the regional RDA and LSC to review the progress of this important scheme and make recommendations to maximise its effectiveness.

We examined the effectiveness of the campaign to date. But also, we focused on what Aspire Partnership Limited – the company managing the campaign – and regional stakeholders need to do to maximise the campaign’s future effectiveness. It achieved this by analysing performance data and undertaking qualitative consultations with key stakeholders ranging from funding bodies, the Board, the Executive Team, partners, businesses and young people too.

We produced an evaluation report, a ‘change management’ report and most interestingly, facilitated a workshop. Here we supported the Aspire Board, the Aspire Executive Team and the Funding Agencies to discus the outcomes of the evaluation and how to progress with the future direction of the campaign.

This study demonstrates the company’s strengths in research and, taking that one step further, providing value-added consultancy support. In providing a set of solutions, our work is giving stakeholders a choice and an opportunity to think about how to maximize the long-term effectiveness of the campaign.
