We have completed high profile Regional Development and Structural Fund work, including the preparation of the regional programmes in Cornwall/Scilly and the South West of England, East and West Midlands, the North of England and Scotland. We have prepared evidence bases, developed strategy, prioritised resources and advised on and developed delivery arrangements. We have prepared ex-ante and ex-post evaluation of programmes.
We develop economic strategies and inform public sector decision-making. We have prepared high profile economic strategies for County Durham and for towns and cities such as Sheffield and Doncaster. We completed three comprehensive sub-regional strategic economic assessments for Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency, to support and inform Investment Planning.
In the field of impact assessment and evaluation, we assess projects as well as programmes. This includes Green Book Appraisal of major projects and appraising projects under a variety of funding streams, including Single Programme, ERDF, ESF, SRB, NRF and NDC.
Ekosgen supports work in the field of Inclusion and we are expert advisors on financial inclusion. We offer research, analysis and evaluation related to worklessness and engagement, community justice and in childcare for economic development. We have prepared responses to new policy developments such as the Freud Report.
We have an extensive track record across the spectrum of business competitiveness and support, from innovation, start-up support, enterprise in disadvantaged communities (LEGI), high growth company support, international trade and volume business support. We are on the Clusters, Science, Innovation and Technology Panel for Yorkshire Forward, we informed the Strategic Action Plan for Enterprise and Business Support in the North East and evaluated the national pilot High Growth Coaching Programme. In offering this support, we have completed extensive research, including sector prioritisation, business perspectives analysis and market segmentation.
The field of policy and economics continues to evolve and we are the forefront of debate about new policy responses. This includes work on perceptions of climate change impact in the North West and carbon neutral programming.
