Strategic Economic Assessments for South, North and West Yorkshire, Yorkshire Forward

Last year, we completed high profile Strategic Economic Assessments for three of the sub-regions in Yorkshire and the Humber. These are one of the most comprehensive socio-economic reviews of the Yorkshire and Humber economy ever undertaken. They have formed part of the RES (Regional Economic Strategy) evidence base and Yorkshire Forward and partners have used them as a key reference point for agreeing priorities for their sub-regional investment plans. Wider regional stakeholders we understand are regularly using the assessments to inform their work.

The reports look at 10 year trends and trajectories across a broad spectrum of indicators covering each of the RES objectives (from business to skills and the environment). Each chapter reviews the major policy drivers, offers an insightful analysis of performance and prospects and provides an assessment of key investment plans. We followed up the detailed baseline assessment with policy-oriented recommendations, as well as the generation of District profiles.
