Implemantation Support
In a number of situations strengthening the capacity of clients to take forward the delivery of investment and funding plans has been an important support service. The use of external consultants has a number of advantages including adding additional expertise to delivery arrangements and providing more flexibility in terms of using resources when they are most needed. In some situations it also allows for the acceleration of progress in the early stages of implementation, while permanent staff are recruited.
The company has been involved in both long and short term assignments, providing key functions on behalf of client organisations. This has included developing application and appraisal systems as well as carrying out appraisal, the preparation of funding applications and business plans, the preparation of policy papers and annual reports, and technical advice to key committees and sub committees. Assignments have included:
- Carrying out the appraisal function for Transform South Yorkshire for Housing Market Renewal funding and to a number of Government Offices for ERDF funding.
- Acting as the Technical Advisor to the Manchester Salford Pathfinder across all of its functions, providing intensive early support in advance of the resourcing of the secretariat.
In a number of instances, short and long term secondments have been provided to provide clients with a dedicated service. This has involved part time and full time support, at senior level, involving interim Managers and Directors for key functions. A feature of this strand of work has been the long term nature of assignments, allowing a close working relationship to build up.
