Feasibility, Business Planning and Bid Development
With resources heavily constrained and private finance difficult to secure in this current climate, organisations need to develop the best possible case for their project or investment if it is to implemented. In addition, many public sector funding streams e.g. Regional Growth Fund in England operate on a highly competitive basis with often only a limited chance of success. From the point at which a project is conceived, this means extensive feasibility testing (including options assessment) and the development of a robust business plan which can stand the test of time.
We work with a range of clients to help them shape their proposals and secure external funding or investment. This support can involve developing business cases (including carrying out primary research and market testing), appraising options, assessing risks, modeling finances, and quantifying outcomes and impacts. Our knowledge of UK and EU funding programmes means that we ensure that any bid we work on is given the best possible chance of success. Our recent track record in this area includes:
- Developing the business plan for a new innovation centre in Cornwall which was successful in securing a 25 year operator contract for a consortia involving Tamar Science Park and the University of Plymouth.
- Examining the feasibility of creating a Technology Park and ancillary uses associated with Cadwell Park Motor Racing Circuit in Lincolnshire.
- Preparing the business plan for the expansion of the Aircelle manufacturing in Burnley.
- Securing £3m of ERDF resources for a programme of knowledge transfer in advanced materials.
- Helping Alstom to secure £4m from the Regional Growth Fund to develop R&D facilities in Stafford.
- Developing a business plan for a programme of energy efficiency measures in properties across the South West of England.
