Tim Allan is based in our Sheffield office. He leads the company’s Education and Skills workstream and has nearly 10 years’ experience of leading research and evaluation projects for clients across the UK, including central government departments and skills agencies in the devolved administrations.
Tim’s specialisms lie in workforce development, employability and education reform, particularly vocational and further education. Much of his work focuses on those facing economic and disadvantage in the labour market, including the (long-term) unemployed. He has worked extensively across the 14-19 agenda, especially on national policy aimed at helping school leavers progress into positive destinations.
Tim is very experienced at designing research methodologies and managing large, longitudinal projects involving nationwide case study programmes. He has strong qualitative and quantitative research skills and has presented at regional and national conferences of the United Kingdom Evaluation Society.
