Daniel is an economist with a over 15 years’ experience in the economic development sector. He specialises in economic appraisal and impact assessment, helping clients to unlock investment to support and enable growth, as well as working with funding bodies to appraise funding applications and advise on how best to maximise the impact of their available resources.
Working across four successful Housing Infrastructure Fund schemes, Daniel developed the economic cases to release £570 million of public investment and enable the delivery of over 40,000 homes. He has also developed business cases for a range of wider funding programmes, including the Towns Fund, Future High Street Fund, and Levelling Up Fund.
Daniel is interested in place-based economics and regularly advises local areas and sub-regions on how best to plan for growth. Building on detailed local economic analysis and stakeholder consultation, Daniel has overseen the development of local economic strategies and Town Investment Plans and, more recently, has advised places on the short and longer-term implications of Covid and how this should inform their priorities.
Daniel is an experienced project manager and director, having led complex multidisciplinary studies drawing on a range of specialist inputs including transport planning, urban design, cost consultancy and property market analysis.
